The talk dealt with ways of visual self- presentation of European University Alliances through the choice of name\/acronym, logotype, and multimodal description of the alliance\u2019s mission and activities.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cScience in crisis? Stylistic choices for persuasion in the interventions proposed by policymakers in European Research Area Policy Agenda 2022- 2024\u201d. Katarzyna Molek-Kozakowska, UO (24-25.04.2023, Krak\u00f3w, Uniwersytet Jagiello\u0144ski i Towarzystwo Tertium, Fifth International Communication Styles Conference: Communication in Times of Permacrisis). The paper focused on persuasive efforts to legitimize interventions in the European Commission\u2019s program text promoting the 20 priorities of the European Research Area agenda.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201eLet\u2019s talk!\u201d. An ideographic analysis of &lt;dialogue&gt; and &lt;debate&gt; in Polish public discourse\u201d. Maria Za\u0142\u0119ska, UW (1-3.06.2023, Eberhard Karls University, T\u00fcbingen; Germany; international conference of the cycle \u00ab&nbsp;Rhetoric in Society (RiS)&nbsp;\u00bb, organized by the Rhetoric Society of Europe entitled \u201eRhetoric in Society. \u201eRhetoric as Strategic Thinking (RiS 8).\u201d The presentation dealt with the cultural specificity of dialogue and debate as a framework for persuasive communication in Polish public discourse.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201eFace metaphors and face claims in Italian public discourse\u201d. Maria Za\u0142\u0119ska, UW (28-30.06.2023, University of Alcal\u00e1 de Henares, Spain). Conference \u201dMetaphor in Public Discourse\u201d of the Researching and Applying Metaphor Conference series (RaAM16). The paper focused on the face metaphors and the peculiarities of their persuasive use in Italian public discourse.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u201cThe functions of humour in talk shows\u201d. Agnieszka Piskorska, UW (12.07.2023, The International Pragmatics Association conference in Brussels.
